4th SunChild International Environmental Festival

The film screenings in the frames of 4th SunChild International Environmental Festival was organized for the youth club members of SOS Culture project implemented by the Foundation for Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets.

The members of Alaverdi, Akhtala, Berdavan and Varagavan youth clubs of SOS Culture project watched the films with great enthusiasm and participated in the discussions. The films made by the participants were also listed among the films of the festival. They were telling about the environmental, cultural and social problems of their community, which, actually, concern the children very much.

We should mention that the film “Vash-Vish” made by the Alaverdi SOS Culture youth club received the first prize in the frames of 4th SunChild International Environmental Festival, and the films shot by other youth clubs were awarded with other special prizes.

The children were very attentive during the discussions and were trying to see and reflect the ideas of the film, also the advantages and disadvantages of it. They received the meaning of this meeting as another training on documentary films and were trying to mentally get ready for their future filmmaking. Many of the children have decided that they would continually make films through which they could speak about problems existing in their communities. They also want to participate in the SunChild International Environmental Festival of upcoming years to show the films they have made to as many people as possible, and to make them pay attention to those problems.
