Since 20-ies of the XIX c. Russian Empire settled German colonists in the village Asureti of Tetritskaro municipality, which was abandoned by that time. They called the village Elizabetal (coordinates: 41.353619 44.401382). Presently a lot of German-style houses are preserved in the village, dated by middle of the XIX c. The houses are mainly two-storied are distinguished for fachwerks characteristic for German Architecture. It’s interesting that German houses build in Georgia often had balconies, characteristic for Georgian, Tbilisian houses. It demonstrates how well Germans shared Georgian architectural details. Wine-cellars are preserved in the village. It is well know that Germans here were good wine-makers.
