On 2nd, 4th, 13th and 14th of March “Civic Participation” Youth NGO’s members provided training courses about civic participation through voluntarism for SOS Culture Youth clubs in Varagavan, Berdavan, Alaverdi and Akhtala.

The aim of the course was to give an overview on a topic such as culture of voluntarism, show how you can bring a change to your community and society by volunteering, and how you can benefit from this, too. Students were introduced to the types of voluntarism, basic principles, learned how to write their own project of volunteer initiatives and get money for its implementation.

Team works, different games were organized during the courses. In the end of training students were asked to plan their own projects based on knowledge they’ve got during the course. Students were very excited and tried to present original and important projects for their community. Suggested projects were different and very interesting, such as organization of tour, trash cleaning and tree planting, performance for children, disseminating information about problems of people with disabilities, helping children with mental disorders, etc. Students promised to do their best to implement these projects, and SOS Culture team will also assist to these initiatives.

The training was interesting and participants got knowledge that can use for their self development as well as to bring a change to their society and to have their own investment in its development.
