The first training in the new room of the Dmanisi SOS Culture Youth Club was organised on Saturday, the February 16th. Previously they had their trainings in the building of the municipality. Now they have rented a new 45m2 room.

This first training was conducted by two trainers Liana Margania and Tea Shonia who were representing the Alternative Young Generation NGO.  It was their second training on leadership and lasted 5 hours. They played games and discussed the different ruling systems such as democracy and monarchy. Besides we had an opportunity to meet another teacher Teo Urmoshvilli who participated in the ToT.

The Dmanisi Youth club members have already had trainings on leadership, tolerance, presentation making and teambuilding. Besides they had one 2-day excursions and 4 local excursions.  They usually meet on weekends and have either trainings or excursions. Usually the youth club coordinator Mzia Dernuzashvilli also attends all the trainings.

The 20 youth club members are from 11/12 grade and 15-17 years old. They keep the gender balance with 10 male and 10 female participants. They study in 3 different schools and use Georgian and Russian as the main training languages. The youth club member Tamar Goguadze said: “We are here from 3 different schools and now we know each other and we do not compete anymore; now we are friends. Besides we do our best to involve other people and spread the ideas”. The youth club participants mentioned that they would like to have trainings on healthy lifestyle and ecology.
